Markaz Islamic secondary
Markaz Islamic Seminary is a private secondary school based in Gongo la Mboto, Dar es Salaam. The school is built on a foundation that combines strong academic teaching with deep Islamic values. It serves both boys and girls and gives parents the option of either day or boarding programs, making it flexible for different family needs.
One of the things that makes Markaz stand out is the balance it creates: students study the full Tanzanian secondary school curriculum while also receiving structured Islamic education. This approach helps learners not only succeed in national examinations but also grow with good discipline, faith, and character.
Over the years, Markaz has developed a reputation for steady improvement in academic results. Classes are usually small enough to allow teachers to follow up on individual progress, and emphasis is placed on languages such as Kiswahili and English alongside religious studies. Students are encouraged to think critically, work hard, and maintain good morals—qualities that prepare them for further education and for serving their communities.
The school operates Monday to Saturday, with a typical day starting early in the morning for both academic lessons and religious activities. Boarding students follow a well-organized routine that blends study, prayer, and personal time.
Markaz Islamic Seminary’s mission is clear: to raise knowledgeable, disciplined, and God-fearing young people who can compete academically and live by Islamic principles in a changing world.
