TWO STREAMS IN NEW CURRICULUMN
1. General Education Stream
This is the academic path designed for students who want to continue with A-Level, college, or university education. It focuses on subjects such as: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Kiswahili, English
The emphasis is no longer on memorization, but on critical thinking, creativity, and digital skills. Students are prepared not only for exams but also for life.
2. Vocational Education Stream
This is the practical option for learners who want to gain hands-on skills that can lead to employment or self-employment right after secondary school.
Some of the vocational and career-oriented subjects included are:
Business Studies
Commerce
Additional Mathematics
ICT (Information and Computer Studies)
Tailoring and Fashion Design (in some schools)
Agriculture, Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical Installation (introduced gradually)
Students in the vocational stream still study core subjects like English, Kiswahili, and Mathematics, but much of their time is dedicated to practical skills and entrepreneurship.
